Trump Vows Voter ID Rules for Midterms
"There will be Voter I.D. for the Midterm Elections, whether approved by Congress or not!" Trump proclaimed on Truth Social.
Trump further criticized congressional Democrats regarding election procedures, claiming they resist voter identification and citizenship verification mandates.
"The reason is very simple — They want to continue to cheat in Elections," he asserted, without presenting evidence.
The president also mentioned that he has examined fresh legal reasoning to support the implementation of voter identification requirements, even in the absence of congressional consent.
Additionally, Trump advocated for mandatory proof of US citizenship for voters and suggested that mail-in ballots should be removed, except in limited circumstances for military personnel, voters with disabilities, those who are ill, or individuals traveling.
In another post, Trump hinted that he might resort to executive measures if Congress fails to take action.
